 China Fields Screensaver

This A1 Screensaver is a truly amazing look back at the life and work of the people of Chengtu valley, China. This historical and pleasant footage was taken in the last century, circa 1940.

"Nestled 'twixt lofty mountains", the valley of Chengtu hasn't changed much in the last few millennia. In fact an ancient irrigation system planned by one Li Ping 2,000 years ago, is still in use and shown in the work.

As they have done for centuries, the farmers cultivate the land using time worn methods and machinery. Some beautiful scenes of ancient mills, water wheels, and traditional "tools of the trade".

A stunning pagoda sets off the scene and all accompanied by an original oriental soundtrack.

***

Ancient crafts abound. See the potter work the waterwheel as it spins on endlessly ... just as it did in the ancient dynasties of Tang, Sung, and Ming.

From silversmiths to silk weavers, the farm to the market, it's business as usual for the last few thousand years!

This lovingly restored and edited film features a fascinating glimpse into the lives of ancient Chinese ways.
